Calgary based, Jan has been developing her skills in painting and sculpture for over 25 years. Working mostly in acrylic her two dimensional paintings are created by manipulating the paint. This process creates texture and depth and the techniques used pushes the boundaries to form bold compositions. Many pieces incorporate other media including fabric and found objects resulting in striking works of contemporary art. Jan’s 3D sculptures are equally eclectic, with imaginative works in bronze, rock, metals and other materials. A graduate of The Glassell School of Art (part of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas) with a focus in painting & sculpture, Jan also is a graduate from Exeter University (UK) with a BSc degree in Geology.
